Prof. K. Tharanikkarasu

Prof. K. Tharanikkarasu is a distinguished academic leader, Professor of Chemistry, and Director (Studies, Educational Innovation and Rural Reconstruction) at Pondicherry University. With over three decades of experience in higher education, teaching, research, academic administration, and institutional development, he has made significant contributions to advancing interdisciplinary research and innovation. He has served in several key leadership positions, including Director, Head of Karaikal Campus, and Vice-Chancellor (In-charge) of Pondicherry University.

His research interests encompass functional polymers, fuel-cell membranes, materials chemistry, sensors, and interdisciplinary science. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals, guided Ph.D. scholars, and contributed to funded research projects and patents.

He is deeply committed to nurturing entrepreneurship, technology translation, industry–academia collaboration, and innovation-driven education. Through ACIC-PUSH, he aims to foster a vibrant ecosystem that empowers students, researchers, startups, and innovators to transform ideas into impactful solutions for society.
